Pushing a snowball up a hill

I am posting from my phone while in bed nursing my 4 month old. I think this may be my best bet to get something up on this blog. It won't be pretty with links, videos or pictures but it will at least give me an option to download something from my brain onto this page. Not much, but something. Which leads me to the question about what I want this blog to be? Do I want it to be another vehicle for promoting or do I want it to be a diary of my life as I pursue a change in my future? I originally wanted it to be both but I am finding that task too daunting and why I am not posting much. So since I have Facebook and twitter, this will be a diary with the occasional promotion. I want a place to come and sketch out my fears and doubts along with my giddiness and euphoria. So with all that out there here we go.
I have expanded my team by one and I am so excited. I have two more people verbally committed to sign on this month or early next month. I am starting to feel the momentum as I build my team. I am really loving this process because I am pumped about my future. I used to get anxiety when I thought about the girl's college or our retirement. Now I have a sense of calm because I feel like I have a winning lottery ticket in my back pocket. When you sign up with Rodan and Fields one of the first things you define is your "reason why". One is asleep in the room next door, one is asleep on my lap and the third is working his ass off downstairs at a job he has watched go down the drain in this horrible economy.

So right now I am building, and it is tough. Like pushing a snowball up a hill. But when I make it to the top I am just going to give it a gentle nudge and sit back and watch that ball of snow roll faster and faster and get bigger and bigger all the while with a huge smile on my face.

LIfe gets in the way

Well I must say I haven't been stellar at this blog thing.  There was a time I was able to post everyday when I was blogging about being a mom, only had 1 baby and was on maternity leave with her.  That was summer of 2008- much has changed.  So in a nutshell I can hardly find time to blog about Life, Love OR Rodan and Fields!  It has been a challenge to focus much on it this month which is causing me some stress and concern.  I do have a full time job that takes much time.  The positive part I take away from that is I care enough about this pursuit and am serious enough about it that when I don't tend to it, I feel guilty and stressed.  It means that is is very important to me. 

I have had several prospects in mind as business partners, all of whom I would be thrilled to have on my team.  I just need to spend more time talking about the opportunity and with busy schedules it is tough.  I also believe so firmly in the product that I almost can't believe that everyone is not chomping at the bit to try it when I gush so much about it!  In reality of course I can believe it but I just know it can change so many people's outlook if they tried it.  I walk around so confidently now because i feel like I have the dewy, glowing skin that I have always yearned for. 

I am in a bit of a slump this month not having had any product sales.  I just have to remind myself it is early and I have great opportunity to be successful.  I need to find an "accountability partner" to keep me on track!

The Life and Love part

The title of my blog is Life, Love and MLM.  My intention is to write not only about my journey to success, but how my life impacts this journey and how this journey impacts my life.  Included in this life is the intense love I have for my family.  For those of you that know me, I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve.  I am pretty open about my feelings and often put private manners out on the internet waves.  It makes some uncomfortable and some reassured.  It does the same for me.  I publicly blogged about my miscarriages.  It was therapeutic for me and I still don't understand why it is a taboo subject.  As a woman I needed to talk about it and I needed support.  Many of my "friends" winced at the announcement and cringed away in shame, disgust, discomfort or whatever it was but my friends list is a lot shorter (but more solid) than before. 

So with all that being said, expect an open display of my life, good and bad, as I try and take this life which is currently in the financial toilet into a financial success.  Weeeee!

Here We Go!!

Okay, I am starting this blog to document my journey as I move toward achieving financial freedom. I have to start by saying that I have never been so excited or passionate about ANYTHING "work" related in my life. So, what did I do that can stir such strong feelings about a job? Wait for it...I joined a Multi-level Marketing company.

This is something that I honestly never thought I would do. I had a preconceived notion about what these companies did and what they represented. Yes the term "Pyramid Scheme" had popped into my mind in the past. However, my hair stylist, Francesca, casual presented what she was doing with a company called Rodan and Fields in the summer of 2011. I was pregnant with my second child and my husband was in ICU after having part of his colon removed. In other words, I had a lot going on in my life and didn't think much of it. Fast-forward to January 2012. I was blissfully enjoying maternity leave and was sitting on the couch nursing my newborn (we welcomed cutie pie Maisie into our lives 12/12/11). I was racking my brain about ways to earn more money. I wasn't thinking about ways to change our tax bracket, just ways to earn extra every month to help cover the nanny when I returned to work. That is when I remembered Francesca's business card in my wallet. I pulled it out and meant to contact her about it. Two days later I received an invite from another friend for her "launch" party with the same company. I knew I needed to learn more. Well, I did learn more, I signed up, and haven't looked back.

So here, with this blog, is where I will track my progress (ie SUCCESS) with Rodan + Fields Dermatology.
There are 3 things that will make me successful:

1. I love the line-it is an amazing product. I have PASSION(see below on who Rodan + Fields are or click above)
2. We are working in a GROWING $2.5 BILLION industry
3. The product is a replenishable item that people will love

Now to clarify, there is nothing "pyramid" about this business model at all. It is an underutilized tool that makes more millionaires than any other business model. I like my job with HON, I do well there, but I will never get rich doing it. Wait, did I say millionaire and rich? Didn't I just say earlier I wanted some extra cash each month and that is it? Well, after I learned more about the company and my potential, a reset my expectations BIG TIME. With Rodan + Fields I will be able to quit my corporate job- my goal is 3 years. I want a better life for myself and my family. I want to travel with Chris and the girls. I want to work for myself and be successful! I am pumped for my future!
